ITALIA - Torgiano (Pg), September 16 - Il primo impianto in Europa a fornire energia dalla vite è stato inaugurato il 15 settembre presso l’azienda vitivinicola Cantine Giorgio Lungarotti di Torgiano (PG).

L’inaugurazione è stata il momento culminante di un innovativo programma di ricerca applicata che in due anni ha portato alla realizzazione di un impianto pilota per il recupero energetico degli scarti di potatura dei vigneti, frutto della collaborazione tra la nota azienda vitivinicola umbra e il Centro Ricerca sulle Biomasse (CRB) dell’Università di Perugia. As the hurricane season begins to bring torrential downpours from Texas through the Southeast and up to the mid-Atlantic states, it makes folks forget that wide swaths of the country are still suffering through persistent drought and low levels of water supply. While agriculture, power generation and other industrial uses account for a large portion of water consumption in the U.S., the built environment is responsible for a significant portion. Outdoor water use accounts for nearly 30 percent of the 26 billion gallons of water used in the U.S. Indoor water use both for domestic water and heating and cooling makes up the other 70 percent; a statistic to which every commercial building in the country contributes. SOUTH KOREA - Seoul, Sep 11 - The South Korean government and private companies plan to invest a combined 3 trillion won (US$2.7 billion) to develop clean energy resources over the next five years, officials said Thursday.

United Kingdom - York, September 11 - Implementing environmental policy can be difficult when various stakeholders have opposing views. Ecological researchers have suggested that using content analysis to examine the language used by different groups could help reveal the underlying values of all the interested parties and find common ground to manage such conflicts.

In the field of applied ecology, one of the aims is to recommend how policy makers can put scientific research into practice when managing natural resources. But some environmental issues can be controversial, and disagreements between different stakeholders on how to implement policy decisions can cause delays, extra costs and poor publicity. One way to appreciate all viewpoints in an environmental issue is to analyse the language used in the texts produced by these interested groups. Preoccupazione da parte dell’APER dopo le dichiarazioni di Antonio Costato, Vicepresidente Confindustria, contrario allo sfruttamento di eolico e fotovoltaico.

Italia - Milano, September 11 - In un’intervista rilasciata ieri al quotidiano “Il Sole 24 Ore” Antonio Costato, Vice presidente di Confindustria con  delega per l’energia, all’interno del dibattito sui costi-benefici derivanti dal perseguimento della Direttiva Europea 20-20-20, ha espresso una netta presa di posizione contraria allo sfruttamento delle nuove rinnovabili (eolico e fotovoltaico).

Pur condividendo l’auspicio espresso da Costato a favore di un ulteriore sviluppo dell’idroelettrico, per altro vessato da vincoli autorizzativi e regolamentari che ne limitano la crescita, APER ha accolto con stupore e sconcerto le dichiarazioni del Vice Presidente di Confindustria. European Union is leading on climate change and energy policies, but needs to increase funding for energy research & development, today concentrated  (almost 40% of the energy funding) on nuclear fusion, a technology that is only expected to contribute past 2050.

Spagna - Valencia , 3 settembre -Le Associazioni di categoria fanno il punto sui principali problemi burocratici e le difficoltà di connessione alla rete che ancora frenano lo sviluppo del fotovoltaico nei principali paesi UE

COREA DEL SUD - Sin An, 2 settembre - Dopo soli 14 mesi dall’inizio di lavori, e 6 mesi prima del termine previsto, l’impianto da 19,6 MW è stato connesso alla rete nella città di Sin An, Corea del Sud. Già programmata l’espansione a 24 MW.
